This is the final workout of the DLB vs The Hypertrophy Coach series. Sad, I know! I need Joe here to train me every single day. You would think I knew what the hello I was doing for the last 14 years of training, BUT today felt like I actually hit my lats for the first time in my life. Through the workout you will notice range of motion is probably a little less than maybe you are used to. It’s not always about how far you pull back, its more of how far can you wrap around. Don’t focus on pulling elbows back, visualize your scapulas spreading as they relax forward and then wrapping them around you like you are trying to touch them together behind you. When you actually do that you’ll notice your elbows really don’t go past your body making it seem like your range of motion is less. However, in reality you are getting full range of the muscle you are targeting and keeping the tension on it the entire time and not pulling further past switching tension to a different area..…(if that makes any sense).
Key things to remember on today’s Back Day: Drive shoulder blades down, wrap them around your body, don’t pull, relax arms and hands, and as always SLOW and CONTROLLED!
Hope you guys enjoyed these video series with Joe “the Hypertrophy Coach” Bennett as much as myself. I enjoyed learning and its fun to get tortured a little bit in the gym. There is always room to learn and to grow, so I hope these videos taught you a thing or two.
Thanks for watching! Time for me to hit the gym!
